Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ยฝ cup heavy cream
  • ยฝ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ยฝ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add orzo, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
  5. Cover and cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender.
  6. Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce is creamy.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Serve hot.
