Ingredients
For the Pasta:
- 12 oz pasta (penne, rotini, or elbow macaroni)
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
For the Beef & Sauce:
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- ยฝ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ยฝ tsp paprika (optional)
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (drained)
- 1 cup beef broth (or water)
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
- 1ยฝ cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- ยฝ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Boil the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add Flavor: Stir in the diced onion and cook until soft (about 3 minutes). Add minced garlic, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Stir for another 30 seconds.
- Make the Sauce: Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute. Add the diced tomatoes and beef broth. Simmer for 5 minutes to let the flavors blend.
- Make it Creamy: Reduce heat to low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir well, then add the shredded cheese and Parmesan. Stir until melted and smooth.
- Combine & Serve: Add the cooked pasta and toss to coat in the creamy sauce. Simmer for another 2 minutes to let everything come together.
- Garnish & Enjoy: Top with fresh parsley and extra cheese if desired. Serve warm!
