Honey Soy Crispy Beef and Noodles

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 8 oz egg noodles, cooked and drained
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated

Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
  • Garnish:
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions:

  • Toss the beef slices in cornstarch, ensuring an even coating. Shake off any excess.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Fry the beef in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside on paper towels.
  • In the same skillet, heat sesame oil and sauté garlic, ginger, red bell pepper, and broccoli for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, chili flakes, and chicken broth. Pour the sauce into the skillet and bring it to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  • Return the crispy beef to the skillet, tossing gently to combine with the noodles and vegetables.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
