
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- ยฝ cup heavy cream
- ยฝ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ยฝ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned. Drain excess grease if necessary.
- Stir in minced garlic, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add orzo, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
- Cover and cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce is creamy.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Serve hot.
